The Watchman

Several years ago, my family and I took a trip out west to the canyons. The landscape is magnificent. One cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of freedom and inner peace surrounded and immersed in the vast, elegance of nature. I've been wanting to do a painting from one of the photographs I took and finally dug out the old acrylics. It's been a very long time since I've used them. This is The Watchman at Zion National Park in Utah, which was my favorite hike during my visit to the National Parks. I completed the painting as a Christmas gift for a close family friend who joined us on this amazing vacation.
